Member Ride – Red Dirt Reservoir

February 7 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced, Expert.

Ride Description: Very little trail riding; we’ll use only as necessary to go to meadows and hills with widely spaced trees and some not so widely spaced. We’ll ride to areas along Forest Service roads 100 and 250, and points west. (Recommend downloading the free COTREX app if you don’t have another winter trails app that shows the Red Dirt area.)

Location: Red Dirt Rd – Snowmobile Parking Lot. Click View Venue Website below for electronic map/directions, or follow these: take Hwy 40 N from Kremmling toward Steamboat  6.3 miles to Hwy 134, go 4.4 miles W on Hwy 134 to Grand County RD 19, go right 4 miles W on GCR 19 to the parking lot on the right side of the road.

  • Parking lot is generally plowed, but it can get crowded.

Breakfast (Optional): 7:30a, Moose Cafe, 115 W Park Ave (Hwy 40) Kremmling, CO 80459.

Pre-Ride Gear Check & Meeting: 9:30a, near Rick’s blue Denali HD truck pulling a 2-place trailer. (Be unloaded, geared up, and ready to ride at this time.)

Ride Start Time: 9:45a.

Ride End Time: 4:00p, or earlier if group wants.

Must Haves: Mntn sled, Beacon w/good batts, Probe, Shovel, Charged cell phone, FRS or GMRS radio set to channel 18, privacy code 21.

Lunch Plan: Carry whatever you need to stay fueled and hydrated for the day; we won’t return to the parking lot until the end of our ride.

Lodging: For anyone wanting to stay in Kremmling Friday night, I would recommend the Allington Inn & Suites 970-724-9924, or Super 8 970-703-3664.
