Every rider knows the problem. A friend finally says yes to a day in the mountains, and you’re one sled short. Colorado Mountain Rentals, a rider-owned shop run by fellow Mile Hi members, is the easy answer.
Sleds for every rider in your group
CMR rents late-model Ski-Doos out of its shop in Denver, just off I-70 and I-76 on the way to the mountains:
- Ski-Doo Grand Touring 600 (2-up): electric start and easy to ride. A good fit for a first-timer or a passenger. No experience needed.
- Ski-Doo Summit 850: a 154″ Powdermax track and SHOT electric start. It handles both trails and deep snow, for beginners through advanced riders.
- Ski-Doo Expert 850 Turbo R: the Gen5 REV platform with 180 horsepower, for experienced riders.
They also rent Timbersled snow bikes and a tracked Polaris RZR XP4 that seats four, if your group wants to mix it up.
Helmets, goggles and radios come with every rental, and multi-sled rentals come on a trailer. You can add avalanche gear, either a beacon alone or a full kit with airbag, beacon, shovel and probe. You can pick up the night before at no extra charge, so you’re ready for an early start.
Club member perks
Ask about a club member discount when you call or text 720-440-2562, or book online. Multi-day rentals also bring the daily rate down.
Giving back to the club
CMR does more than rent sleds. They’ve sponsored the Heroes of Freedom Veterans Ride every year since 2020, donating their time and their entire fleet so veterans can spend a day on the snow near Grand Lake. Club members started the ride in 2018 with six veterans. By 2022 it had grown to 52 veterans and 37 volunteers riding nearly 50 miles.
CMR also sponsors the Snowmobile for Life Poker Run, which Mile Hi co-hosts each winter with the Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club of Grand Lake to raise money for Flight for Life Colorado.
Next time you need an extra sled, keep it in the family.
